Happy November Everyone!
If someone had told me back in July that I would be sending out an email in the first week of November to report that we still have not had a confirmed case of Covid in students or staff, I would have been blown away. I want to say thank you for keeping up good practices at home because that’s what is allowing us to keep our school open. Earlier this week you should have received a notice about how the Archdiocese will be handling Snow Days this year. Some public school districts are considering making those days a remote learning day. We have decided to keep them as a Snow Day with no academic expectations for students or instructional expectations for teachers. Remember to watch for “Omaha Catholic Schools” cancellation in the news scroll on local television stations. If you have given the school office your cell phone number and cell phone provider, you will also receive a text message saying school is cancelled. I do not get notified any earlier than you do. I’m monitoring the local television stations as well but will text out the message as soon as I can.
Casual dress down Fridays will continue through November. Picture retake day is scheduled for Monday November 9th. Any student getting a retake does not need to wear the school uniform. Remember to bring in a copy of the proofs from the first session on October 8th. This does not apply to any student who was absent on October 8th or any new students who joined SJA since October 8th.
Last, I want to congratulate our 6th Grade Girls Volleyball Team. The girls took first place in their league and were undefeated for the season. Team members are Paighton Gifford, Gabriel Burns, Lilly Gruelky, Louk Alic, Kennedy Barrow, Presley Vorland, Skylar Slavik, Ellen Spica, Lorelei Rodriguez and Rebecca Saettele. Congratulations to all the girls and coaches John Gifford and Annie Riley.
Have a great weekend everyone. God is blessing us with some wonderful warm weather and lots of leaves decorating the landscape.
